The major driving force for the present day Information Technology revolution is the development in Electronics Communication Engineering. The advancements in microelectronics, satellite and optical fibre technology, analog and digital communication techniques have resulted in developing complex electronics devices, circuits and equipments capable of implementing fast and efficient telecommunication systems. Real time transfer of audio and video signals is now possible with recent trends in broad band technologies. Penetration of innovations in electronics has now revolutionalised other areas like health care, instrumentation, automation, remote sensing, signal processing etc. Graduates in Electronics Engineering have opportunities in Government and private companies for installation, operation and maintenance of electronics equipments and systems. Defense, space and other large research organisations employ electronics engineers in design and development of complex devices and systems for signal processing and telecommunication.
Industries involved in design and fabrication of devices, integrated circuits, embedded systems, electronic equipments etc also provide large scale placements for engineers with this specialization. Installation and maintenance of electronic equipments used for health care in hospitals, equipments & systems for instrumentation and control in process industries automation systems of assembly line in production industries, etc are also handled by electronics engineers.

In addition to the various add on cards, the lab is equipped with the microprocessor kits of 8085, 8086 and Microcontrollers such as 8051, 8951. Complete Digital electronics kits such as Multiplexer, ALU and gates are available with the department for the training of students along with PC, Band project Labs.


The Communication lab is well equipped with the latest measurement and communication devices. The lab boasts of a standard function generators and super heterodyne receivers, a wide range of CRO's with audio oscillators and high frequency generators. PCM Multiplexing and Demultiplexing kits are also available. For the Digital Communication the deptt. has ASK, PSK, FSK and Delta Modulation Kits.


Sophisticated devices like advanced antenna are present in this Lab. The other instruments used are reflex, klystrons, Gunn Diodes, Wave-Guides, Flonges, Attenuators, Frequency meters, Slotted Sections, probes, Circulators, and Tees.


All the equipments relating to basics of instrumentation such as Kelvin Bridge, Wheotstone bridge, Kelvin Double Bridge are available with the deptt. For process and control applications the deptt. has PID controllers, Compensators, AC and DC Motor Controllers, AC and DC error controllers.


This lab has the kits relating to passive filters such as Low Pass, High Pass,, Band Pass, Band Stop, Constant-K, m-derived and composite filters. This lab also has kits for study and analysis of basic active components such as h-parameter study kits for transistors, CB CC and CE configurations of BJT, Biosing circuits for FET and MOSFET. This lab further has kits for study of OP-Amp and its applications in analog computation, summing amplifier, logarithmic amplifier, Integrator and differentiator.


The deptt. boasts of having the PCB lab in its project for giving the students a platform to build their own projects. The lab has all the equipments needed for PCB manufacturing such as positive negative generator, etching machine, cutting machine, drilling machine, tinner, UV exposure unit etc.

This lab has 20 computers with related design softwares for students to build and check their designs. It also has latest function generators and CROs for providing facility to students to check their on board designs. This provides tremendous confidence in students to work in the industry.
